Face Masks - August 2014 Favourites
Summer these days are really very hot than what they used to be...The hot sun can really damage your skin. If your work involves going around, travelling outdoors, do please apply some sun block/ sunscreen lotion which has a good spf resistance which can be upto max of 50+. I will blog about this in detail another day.
This summer, I would like to write about my favourite Facial Masks that has been really protecting my skin and rejuvenating me. I used go for facials every month when i was working and i made it a point to be a regime to continue that to get all the impurities away from my skin. Since I am currently at home at least for the next few months, I would still prefer to keep my skin glowing at least to home standards. Of course, we have our home recipes of facials, which we shall leave for another day to explore, but let me state my favourites for this month.
Among all the different facial masks I usually wear, for this month, I am actually using Freemans Feeling Beautiful Anti Stress Mask made of Dead Sea Minerals. (Made in USA)
Seriously you have to try this. It smells good, its kinda like blue thick paste that you apply on your face and relax for a bit. You will feel like a character from the "Avatar" when you are done applying this paste on your face and neck. The next few minutes, you could actually carry on with your work, or if you are like me, juz lie down and relax listening to your favourite soothing music with scented candles lit up. This paste will eventually harden up on your face and you can feel your face tightening up. If you had a happy face while resting, you are going to be that way till you wash it coz it tightens the skin to a point you don't want to talk to crack that mask which is doing such a good job of tightening your skin. This actually helps your skin from getting those tiny wrinkles that are developing in your face and also from sagging skin.
This works well for me as I don't really have sensitive skin, but for those who would like to try this, you may one time use packs/ sachets sold at your local drugstore. It costs around SGD 2 while the tube you see above costs SGD 6.90 If i ever come across these facial products at a cheaper price, will update accordingly.
Freeman products also includes different types of masks which include hot clay (my favourite - which you can feel the heat when applied on), hydrating, mosturizing etc. I have pretty much tried most of it, but we don't get most of the varieties in Singapore. If you live in the US or abroad, you may get your hands on these masks.
For more info on the varieties that would fit your skin type and needs, you may visit the following website

Another favourite this month that i use to get some hydration on my skin is the Aloe Vera Hydrating Mask.
This is like a wet slab of white cotton sheet which is soaked with Aloe Vera, Cucumber, Green Tea extracts and Shea Butter, which is cut in a way that you can place it on your face. There are holes cut out for your eyes, nostrils and lips. This is rather cooling and all these goodness is absorbed in your skin leaving your skin really fresh and supple after a few minutes.
Similarly, you may get different brands of such masks, but currently this is my August favourite to quench my skins thirst. They also have moisturizing masks with other ingredients. These packs are one time use and costs SGD 2 in all your local drugstores. If you are lucky and they have a sale, you may get these at SGD 1 like i did.
Take a few minutes off from your usual work, this can be while your kid is sleeping or before you go to bed, this really helps to refreshen and brighten your day.
Try it out and let me know your comments.
